Vane Kensington — Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Vane Kensington. By accessing or using our website and purchasing our products, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. About Us
Vane Kensington is an online retailer specialising in premium men's neckwear, custom-made and made-to-measure suits, and accessories.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases made through our website.
2. Products
We make every effort to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, colours and measurements are accurate. However, slight variations may occur due to photography, lighting, screen settings and the natural characteristics of fabrics. All products are subject to availability.
3. Orders
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products. After placing your order, you will receive an order confirmation by email. This confirms that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted.
We reserve the right to cancel or decline an order where:
- The product is unavailable.
- There is an obvious pricing or product description error.
- We suspect fraudulent or unauthorised activity.
- We are unable to fulfil the order for reasons beyond our reasonable control.
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, you will receive a full refund.
4. Pricing & Payment
All prices displayed on our website are shown in GBP (£) unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change prices at any time. Price changes will not affect orders that have already been confirmed. Payment must be successfully received before an order can be dispatched or, in the case of custom-made suits, before production begins.
5. Shipping & Delivery
Orders for ties, accessories and ready-to-wear items are normally dispatched within 1–2 working days. Delivery times depend on the shipping method selected at checkout and the destination. Once an order has been dispatched, customers may receive tracking information where available.
Custom-made suits require an additional production period before dispatch — see Section 7 below and our Shipping Policy for current estimated timeframes.
We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including courier delays, severe weather, strikes, customs delays or other unforeseen events. Customers are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address.
6. Returns — Ties, Accessories & Ready-to-Wear Items
We accept eligible returns of ties, accessories and ready-to-wear items within 14 days of delivery. Returned products must be unworn and unused, in their original condition, returned with the original packaging where applicable, and free from stains, odours, damage or signs of wear.
A £2.95 return processing charge will be deducted from your refund. Original delivery charges are non-refundable. Personalised or specially customised products cannot be returned unless they are faulty or incorrectly supplied.

7. Custom-Made Suits
Custom-made suits are individually manufactured to the measurements and specifications you provide and select at the time of order, including your chosen style, fabric and design details.
Cancellation rights. Because a custom-made suit is produced to your own specifications, the statutory 14-day cancellation right that ordinarily applies to online purchases does not apply once the relevant legal exemption is met. In practical terms: made to your measurements — change-of-mind returns are not normally available for genuinely custom-made garments once production has begun, but your statutory rights are unaffected if the suit is faulty, not as described, or does not otherwise conform to the contract. We do not describe custom suits as simply "non-returnable" — the correct position, and the one that applies to your order, is set out in full in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Before production begins. If you need to change or cancel a custom-suit order, contact us as soon as possible. We may be able to make changes or cancel before production starts, but we cannot guarantee this once it has.
Production time. The estimated production time for a custom-made suit is currently 3–4 weeks from order confirmation, shown on the relevant product page and at checkout. This is an estimate rather than a guaranteed delivery date unless we expressly agree one with you in writing. Delivery time (Section 5 above) is additional to the production period.
Measurements. At checkout, you will enter your own measurements and confirm your chosen specifications, following our measurement guide. You are responsible for the accuracy of the measurements and specifications you provide. Before you complete your order, you will be asked to tick a checkbox confirming that you understand the garment is being custom-made to your order and that you have reviewed and confirm your measurements and specifications as entered. This checkbox is an acknowledgement of your order details — it is not, and is not intended to be, a waiver of any statutory right you may have in relation to faulty or non-conforming goods.
Order confirmation record. Following a custom suit order, we will send you a confirmation email setting out the exact measurements and specifications you provided (a "Customer Specification" record), so that you have a clear record of what was ordered and can flag any error before production begins.
If something is wrong. If your suit has a manufacturing defect, has been made using incorrect measurements, differs materially from the measurements or specifications you provided or from the product description, or otherwise does not conform to the contract, please contact us — see our Returns & Refunds Policy for how remedies (repair, alteration, replacement, price reduction or refund) are handled. Your statutory rights are not affected by the custom-made nature of the garment.
8. Faulty or Incorrect Products
If you receive a product that is faulty, damaged or different from what you ordered, please contact us as soon as possible. We may request photographs or other information to help us assess the issue. Where a product is confirmed to be faulty or incorrectly supplied, we will provide an appropriate replacement, repair, alteration, price reduction or refund in accordance with applicable consumer law. The £2.95 return charge will not apply to confirmed faulty or incorrectly supplied items.
9. Product Care
Customers are responsible for following the care instructions provided with our products. Vane Kensington cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by incorrect washing, cleaning, storage, ironing, handling, alteration by a third party, or general misuse.
10. Intellectual Property
All content displayed on this website, including but not limited to logos, brand names, photography, product imagery, designs, text, graphics and website layouts, is owned by or licensed to Vane Kensington and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, modify or commercially use our content without prior written permission.
11. Website Use
You agree to use our website lawfully and responsibly. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our website or systems, introduce malicious software or harmful code, use our website for fraudulent purposes, copy or reproduce our website content without permission, or interfere with the operation or security of the website.
12. Accuracy of Information
We aim to keep all information on our website accurate and up to date. Occasionally, errors may occur relating to product descriptions, availability, pricing or other information. We reserve the right to correct such errors where necessary.
13. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes any liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable law. Subject to this, Vane Kensington shall not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of our website or products where permitted by law.
14. Privacy
Your personal information, including any measurements and specifications you provide for a custom-made suit, is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We only use customer information for legitimate purposes such as processing orders, manufacturing custom garments, providing customer service, delivery and other purposes explained in our Privacy Policy.
15. Events Beyond Our Control
We will not be liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations where the failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, strikes, transport disruption, cyber incidents, supplier disruption or other unforeseen circumstances. Where such an event affects the production of a custom-made suit, our estimated production time may be extended and we will keep you informed.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The latest version will always be published on our website. Any changes will apply from the date they are published and will not affect orders already confirmed.
17. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the applicable courts of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply.

Statutory Rights
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits your statutory rights, including your rights in relation to goods that are not as described, not of satisfactory quality, or not fit for purpose. The custom-made status of a suit does not remove these rights.
